Handmade Screens

I constructed these screens in order to make the paper I used in all my handmade paper projects. As part of my graduate work at the University of Alberta I oversaw the construction of a hollander made by one of the technicians. I needed this to mulch linter stock and lint I had collected. I dipped the screens into the vat to make the individual sheets in a traditional manner of making handmade papers. I used dyes and pigments in the vat. In addition, I altered some papers after they dried.
